Sandymount Village, awash with local bakeries, gift shops, boutiques and cafes. Sandymount Strand is also a quick jaunt away from the village, grab some fresh fish and golden chips, with liberal amounts of salt and vinegar, and investigate the most famous beach in Irish fiction. James Joyce’s novel Ulysses was set here, and indeed you can see the Sandymount Martello Tower here, too. W.B. Yeats was born here, and Seamus Heaney lived in Sandymount for many years.
