HERBERT PARK

A visit to Herbert Park, is the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning and do as true Dubliners do. The idyllic park has so much going on, from its football and tennis pitches to its pond and yoga spaces, the fun never stops. Only a 15 minute amble from The Devlin, you can reward yourself for your steps with one (or two) dishes from the amazing range of food stalls in the parks farmers market. AVAIVA STADIUM

The Leinster Rugby Team traditionally play in the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) but have been temporarily moved to the Aviva Stadium whilst the RDS undergoes renovations. Day 1: Arrival in Dublin & Exploring Ranelagh

Morning: Arrive at Dublin Airport. Take a taxi or public transportation to the Devlin in the Ranelagh neighborhood. When taking public transportation, you will most likely be brought to the Heuston Train Station or Connolly Train Station, the best option to get from the Devlin after being dropped in the city center is to take the Luas to the Beechwood or Ranelagh stops, both of which are within walking distance from The Devlin. Day 2: Historical Tour & Cultural Exploration

Afternoon: Have a quick lunch in the city center, then visit Dublin Castle, a major piece of Irish history. In the evening, head back to Ranelagh and try one of its many local pubs like McSorley’s for traditional Irish fare and a welcoming atmosphere.

Evening: Go for a traditional Irish music pub crawl. There are many in Dublin, but O’Donoghue’s is one of the most famous for this, and it’s a short taxi ride away.

Day 3: Dublin’s Museums & Nightlife

Morning: Visit the National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology to take in some of the country’s rich history.

Afternoon: For lunch, try some local delicacies in the food stalls of Moore Street Market. In the afternoon, head to the Guinness Storehouse for a tour and a pint at their rooftop bar, Gravity Bar.

Evening: Back in Ranelagh, have dinner at one of the local spots like Nightmarket, which serves authentic Thai dishes. After dinner, try a pint at Birchall’s or another of Ranelagh’s many friendly local pubs. Additionally, take advantage of the long evenings and take a stroll to find some of the wonderful street art of Ranelagh.

Day 4: Literary Dublin & Ranelagh Chill

Morning: Embark on a literary walking tour that covers famous Irish authors such as James Joyce and Oscar Wilde. The tour includes a visit to the Dublin Writers Museum and a stroll around Trinity College.

Afternoon: After grabbing lunch, visit the Book of Kells, an ancient manuscript housed in Trinity College. Later, head back to Ranelagh and visit the Ranelagh Arts Centre. They often host exhibitions, film screenings, and workshops.

Evening: Savor your final dinner in Dublin at Dillingers, known for its innovative and hearty dishes. Afterward, enjoy your final evening with a movie at Stella Cinema or a few cocktails at Americana.

Day 5: Departure

OPEN HIVE BEES

With the support of Powers Whisky we have joined the OpenHive community, an Irish founded program by 3 bee keepers with the focus on the necessity of environmental sustainability. OpenHive rears and breeds the endangered Irish black honeybee, which play an essential role in the conservation of the biodiversity of the Irish habitat. They are committed to decreasing environmental impact at every opportunity even using screen printing when labelling their jars to eliminate single-use plastic labelling and provide a system for jar return and reuse. With our rooftop bees and the help of OpenHive, we use the honey extracted across our food and drinks menus and sell any extra in our lobby, with proceeds supporting the expansion of OpenHive.

RILEY SANITARY PRODUCTS

We have proudly partnered with the fantastic Irish, female founded company Riley in order to help with the fight towards ending period poverty and break the stigma surrounding periods. Not only are the Riley sanitary products sustainable, toxin free and eco-friendly, but by purchasing and donating to Riley, we are helping to support their amazing charity partner Development Pamoja. Development Pamoja work in rural Kenya, helping to drive change and fight the issue of period poverty through the provision of doctor led educational visits on menstrual health and access to sanitary products in disadvantaged communities worldwide, including Positive Period Ireland.

GLINT GLASS

We work with Irish social enterprise Glint glass to eliminate any waste glass in our bars and restaurants. Glint Glass take glass waste and rework it into stunning reusable pieces that ‘don’t cost the earth’ through traditional glassmaking techniques, keeping the environment constantly in mind and providing classes for others to do the same!

MEALS ON WHEELS

Our amazing general manager in the Devlin works closely with the fantastic volunteers at the local meals on wheels. Helping to brighten the days of their community by providing volunteers with DIME pastries at the end of each day to distribute and organising evenings out, showing a film of their choice in the Stella cinema free of charge.

MICRO GREENS

Our amazing team at Layla’s grow their own herbs which are used throughout our menu, on drinks and to garnish.

SUPPORTING IRISH ARTISTS

Art & Culture is at the core of what we do here in The Devlin. From the moment you visit us you’ll find a wide variety of unique Irish artwork that provides a glimpse into the many talents of Ireland’s emerging and establishing creative community. We are delighted to showcase budding artists work and are always looking for new ways to support the arts.

REDUCING OUR WASTE

To help reduce our consumption of single use plastic we have ceased our use of single use plastic straws and water bottles, opting for paper straws, aluminium cans and biodegradable coffee cups along with providing discounts to customers helping to reduce waste through the use of keep cups.

LOCALLY SOURCED PRODUCE

We support Irish as much as possible using locally sourced produce throughout the kitchen and hotel, down to our in room munchie trays.
